BG3: How To Put Sarin To Rest & Sarin’s Skeleton Location

As you explore the Lower City Sewers, you may encounter a man named Aelis Siryasius guarding a body that he claims to be putting at rest.

The body belongs to one of his companions, but something is off because the skeleton is missing a head and this is preventing the spirit of Sarin from moving on.

There are now quests indicated or hints on what to do, which makes it up to you to solve the mystery of where her skull is and what to do with the body.

Where To Find Sarin’s Skeleton?

Sarin’s Skeleton location map

Sarin’s Skeleton can be found guarded by Aelis Siryasius and his army of Grease Summons, which include Grease Elementals, Mud Mephits and Greaseballs.

You will find them to the north of the City Sewers Waypoint and will find them before you reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint.

What Happened To Sarin?

Sarin is one of the members of a group that decided to break into Gortash’s office, and this is when they learned about his plot for The Absolute.

This caused Gortash to send assassins after them, which drove them to hide in the Lower City Sewers, which led them to become mad.

Sarin was decapitated by Bareki and Aelis Siryasius now plans to burn the remains, but this is no way to put a soul to peace, especially when the skull is still missing.

How To Put Sarin To Rest?

getting rid of Aelis Siryasius

The first thing that you want to do is get rid of Aelis Siryasius, who is currently guarding her decapitated skeleton.

If you manage to pass an Ability Check with him, this will allow you to roam freely for a bit but later he will become hostile.

You can get creative and place a few Smokepowder Barrels around him and ignite it from afar as this will kill him, his Grease Elementals, and Grease Mephits. (A few will survive)

Once you have cleared the area, you will now need to reunite Sarin’s Skull with her skeletal body but first, you need to find it.

sneaking to avoid get caught by the enemies

Your best bet would be that the skull will be with whoever decapitated her, which would be Bareki, who is now titled Voiceless Penitent Bareki.

Trading with Bareki is possible at first but the only way you can get Sarin’s Skull is to take it from the pouch behind him. (You can sneak to avoid getting caught)

Once you have Sarin’s Skull, her decapitated body will appear as a ghost and follow whoever carries it around until you unite it with her body.

headless ghost

Now that her headless ghost is following you around, you will need to head back to where you killed Aelis Siryasius and bring the skull back to her body.

Once you reach Sarin’s Skeleton, all you need to do is interact with it and insert her skull in the slot when the menu appears to complete her.

Sarin will now appear as a ghost but now with her head, revealing her former self before she became a spirit that could not rest in peace.

The ghost of Sarin gives you a bow and thanks and leaves a reward for you just before she disappears for good.

Sarin’s Skeleton Rewards

Chancer’s Carcanet rewards for putting sarin's to rest

Once Sarin has been put to rest, you will receive the Chancer’s Carcanet (Rare Amulet), which allows you to use a reaction to make an Attack Roll or Saving Throw with Advantage.

Verdict

Sarin’s group was brave when it came to taking on Gortash but eventually, being stuck hiding from his assassins made the group lose their mind.

Poor Sarin could not rest due to what had happened, especially when her skeletal body and skull were separated.

Thanks to your efforts, Sarin will finally be at rest but the same cannot be said for her former companions as one is dead and the other must live with the burden of what he has done.
