Shroomer is a Grass Pal that was added when the Sakurajima Update came out and it looks like its appearance alone is what got it the name.
Due to this Pal’s strange spores, it often becomes very still but this is not because it is mimicking the mushrooms on the island instead, it often gets high off of its spores.
This Pal has a certain effect on the Pals in a base that it has also been assigned to, which causes their sanity to drain slower than usual.
Shroomer Location
You will find Shroomers lurking around the Mushroom Wetlands as this is their natural habitat on Sakurajima Island.
These Pals tend to stay around this area most likely due to their nature having a connection to the overgrown mushrooms that grow in the area.

Shroomer can be obtained earlier in the game if you have not reached Sakurajima and this can be done by breeding certain Pals to hatch it from an egg.

Shroomer Uses
Shroomer can be a great Pal to help you fight off Ground Pals thanks to its many Grass Active Skills since this deals more damage to them.
Adding Shroomer to your base provides you with a hardworking Pal that can plant, craft, gather wood, and gather from plantations.
One of the best things about Shroomer is that he tends to make sure all your Pals are more relaxed than usual even if they are working hard.
Partner Skill
Shroomer’s Partner Skill is called Swooshy Spores, which becomes active once this Grass Pal has been assigned to a base. (You can also ride Shroomer once you have crafted its saddle)
Swooshy Spores reduces the rate at which the Sanity value of all the other Pals in the base decreases, making them less likely to need to visit the Hot Springs often.
This makes Shroomer essential for bases where several Pals are working so that their productivity doesn’t decrease from time to time.
Work Suitability
Despite its cute looks, Shroomer has a lot of Work Skills that can be applied to any base, allowing it to take up multiple roles so you can assign other Pals to different tasks.

Verdict
Shroomers are often sought out due to the effect they have on Pals in your base and this is essential if you want a self-sustaining base.
The ability to reduce the rate at which Sanity drops will prevent your Pals from gaining negative statuses that disrupt their efficiency at your base.
Although Shroomers may be smaller than most Pals, you can still ride this Pal to get around most areas and manually use its attacks once you have crafted its saddle.
