Should You Kill the Dream Visitor in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Dream Visitor has been on your side ever since the Nautiloid crashed and during several points in your journey in search of a cure.

Things become more tense when you are forced into a corner with a choice to kill the Dream Visitor to help Lae’zel or take her side instead.

While this may seem like a difficult decision to make, it is best to play it through the way you see fit but if you are wondering what happens, the outcomes are quite similar.

How To Find The Dream Visitor?

Beckoning Cave

Your visit to the Astral Plane happens when you reach the Githyanki Creche and are put in front of Vlaakith, who forces you to do her bidding.

This means that you either side with Lae’zel and head into the Astral Plane or face her wrath, which will end up with you going to the Astral Plane where the Dream Visitor is hiding.

Once you are in the Astral Plane, there will be a Beckoning Cave that you may interact with to start a conversation with the Dream Visitor.

Conversation With Dream Visitor

You are instructed to go in alone and despite not listening to the Dream Visitor’s warnings, you still arrive at the Astral Plane.

The Dream Visitor does not show any aggression though and instead, they try to convince you that they are on your side.

It becomes clear that they are still determined to help you and as the Dream Visitor approaches, they manifest a sword and kneel and hold it forward, surrendering their life to you.

Should You Kill The Dream Visitor?

Killing The Dream Visitor

Killing the Dream Visitor may seem like the only way to stay on Lae’zel’s good side and to avoid getting destroyed by Vlaakith but there is more to the story.

Regardless of killing the Dream Visitor, they will not end with their death as after trying to kill her, the whole thing appears as an illusion.

If you tried to kill the Dream Visitor, they would reappear but be disappointed and instead tell you that they are the reason you are not turning into a mind flayer before sending you off.

Should you refuse to kill the Dream Visitor, they will show signs of relief and put their blade back to continue the conversation with you.

To put things short, you can’t kill the Dream Visitor and instead, this was all a test to see if they could trust you before you go back to the Inquisitor’s Chamber.

Verdict

Regardless of your choice in the Astral Plane, the Dream Visitor will not easily be killed and even if you try to do this, they continue to protect you.

The decision becomes an intense one and no matter what the outcome, Lae’zel soon comes to her senses and will start to see things your way.

Lae’zel finds out that she has been lied to and even if she was successful in slaying the Dream Visitor, her death sentence had already been ordered.
