As you make your way around the Shadow-Cursed Lands, you find out that the Tieflings were attacked and that they have been captured.
This happens when you encounter the slain Tieflings as well as speak to Alfira at the Last Light Inn, which leads you to an attempt to rescue them.
The Tieflings are held up in the Moonrise Towers Prison, which means you need to infiltrate the prison and find a way to break them out.
Where To Find The Tieflings?
The Tieflings are imprisoned within the Moonrise Towers, which you can reach after progressing through the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
This requires that you find a way to survive the lands by obtaining a Moonlantern so that you can make your way to Moonrise Towers.
How To Rescue The Tieflings?
Rescuing the Tieflings is the same with the Deep Gnomes, who you may have already encountered if you explored Grymforge.
You will need to make your way into the prison and locate the Deep Gnomes who are in a nearby cell and speak to Wulbren.
Wulbren will have a plan to break out of the prison but will need you to find his hammer, which is located at the top of a room near the cells.
Once you have given Wulbren his hammer, he will be able to break through a nearby wall and free the Tieflings along the way. (May be sure to speak to Lakrissa in her cell)
While the Deep Gnomes and the Tieflings make a run for the boats nearby, you will need to make sure the guards don’t catch up to them.
Head to the boats once you have dealt with the guards and you can escape along with them, which will bring you to the Last Light Inn.
Reward For Rescuing The Tieflings
Speaking with Lakrissa and Alfira will provide you with various rewards, which include the popular Potent Robe.
The following are rewarded for rescuing the Tieflings:

- Scroll of Sunbeam
- Scroll of Planar Binding
- Scrolls of Enlarge
- Potion of Animal Speaking
- Potion of Greater Healing

Verdict
Rescuing the Tieflings and the Grymforge Gnomes is more of a two-in-one quest, which offers multiple rewards if you manage to get both parties out.
Ensuring that the guards are stopped from catching up to them is the best way to avoid any casualties, making it best to ambush the guards when they attempt to open the gates.
The Potent Robe that is rewarded for rescuing the Tieflings is an extremely useful piece of equipment for characters that cast spells.
