Wheat is a consumable that can be grown and harvested but is rarely eaten as it is and is instead used as an ingredient when cooking food.
Unlike Red Berries, getting started with Wheat is something that doesn’t happen until you have progressed a bit in Palworld.
Once you get a good supply of Wheat going in your base by growing and harvesting it, you can later make use of it for cooking various food items.
How To Get Wheat?
1) Wheat Plantations
Wheat is obtained by growing it from a Wheat Plantation, which you can unlock in your Technology Menu once you reach Level 15.
A Wheat Plantation will require Wheat Seeds to build and will also need them to be planted, making it necessary to find Wheat Seeds first.
Once you have a plantation going, you can let your Pals do the planting, watering, and harvesting and this will provide you with an unlimited supply of Wheat. (If maintained)
Pals that have the Planting and Watering Work Skills will tend to the Wheat Plantation while Pals with Gathering will harvest the Wheat.
2) Purchase From Wandering Merchant
If you have stumbled upon any Wandering Merchants, you will be able to find Wheat amongst the many items that they sell.
If you have the Gold for it, you can purchase Wheat from a Wandering Merchant, but this can sometimes be costly and it’s better to produce it at a Mill.
You can purchase Wheat from a Wandering Merchant for 100 Gold each and buy Wheat Seeds from them for the same price, which would be better so you can create a Plantation. (Plantation needs 3)
How To Get Wheat Seeds?
Obtaining Wheat seeds is not as simple as picking them off the ground, you will need to target certain Pals and defeat them to get this consumable.
Wheat seeds drops from certain Grass Pals that you may hunt down to start your very own Wheat Plantation, or you can purchase these from Wandering Merchants.
Wheat Seeds are dropped by the following Pals:
- Bristla
- Cinnamoth
- Dinossom
- Flopie
- Robinquill
- Robinquill Terra
Wheat Uses in Palworld
Wheat is one of the ingredients that you may consume in its raw form, but this does not provide you or your Pals with that much Nutrition.
Instead of eating Wheat, this consumable is best processed into Flour, which is an ingredient that can be used to cook other types of food that provide a lot of Nutrition.
You process Wheat into Flour by using a Mill, which is a structure that can be unlocked and built once your character reaches Level 15.
Verdict
Wheat is not as accessible as Red Berries are during your first few days in Palworld but you can always get lucky and defeat a few creatures that will drop Wheat Seeds.
It is important to save Wheat Seeds and prepare them for your Wheat Plantation as this will start a mass production of Wheat for later.
Wheat is best turned into Flour, which is later an important ingredient that is used to make Cakes, which are used for breeding Pals.
