Surfent is a Water Pal that resembles a water dragon and surprisingly, its attacks are not only limited to Water Active Skills, it can also learn Dragon Attacks.
These Water Pals are aggressive and will attempt to attack anything they feel threatened by, which can end up with multiple of these Pals swarming you.
When facing these Pals, it is best to avoid swimming if there are several of these in the water as they will relentlessly attack you.
Surfent Location
Surfent can be found in two of the lakes located within the Bamboo Groves, which has this Water Pal spawning around (-178, -270) and (-139, -453) near or in the water.
Surfent Uses
Having a Surfent in your base is a good way to provide certain structures with water, such as a Crusher or Mill as this Pal has a good level of Watering.
When fighting alongside you, this Water Pal can unleash both Water and Dragon Attacks upon your enemies and these can be useful against certain Pals.
One of the more useful things about Surfent is that it is a great swimmer, capable of sprinting across the water without getting tired.
Partner Skill
Surfent has the Swift Swimmer Partner Skill, which makes this Pal a good option for traveling across the water as it doesn’t have a hard time like other Pals.
While you are swimming across water, Surfent will not lose any stamina and you can safely swim around without worrying about drowning.
To ride Surfent, you will first need to unlock the Surfent Saddle (Key Item) and craft it at a Pal Workbench.
Work Suitability
The only help a Surfent can do aside from defending your base during raids is to provide water but this is something to consider as its Watering Skill is higher than that of other Pals.

Verdict
Surfent is one of the best Pals you can get if you plan on crossing bodies of water around Palpagos Island and can deal a good amount of damage to Fire Pals.
Some players tend to hunt Surfent for the amount of Pal Fluids that they provide, especially since multiple of these Pals spawn together.
A Ground Variant of this Pal called Surfent Terra exists and this can be bred using a regular Surfent and a Dumud.
