Stone is a common resource in Palworld and one of the easiest to get early in the game but sometimes 20 -50 pieces is not enough and you will find that you need more.
While there are multiple ways for you to get Stone, you should be able to efficiently get this material as it is essential for the majority of the items you craft and structures you build.
Thankfully, you don’t always have to pick up rocks or hit large stones with a pickaxe, there are better ways to get this material efficiently.
How To Get Stone?
1) Gathering Stone From Ground
At the beginning of the game, you will figure out that you can pick up Stone from the ground but these will only give you a few of them.
These rocks will show a small window that indicates what you need to press to pick the Stone up just like with other materials found on the ground.
Going around and collecting Stone of the ground is one of the earliest ways to get this material before you can craft a pickaxe and use it to mine Stone.
2) Mining Rocks
You will notice that there are large Stone formations that can be found all over the place and these can be destroyed by attacking them. (Anything can deal damage but pickaxes are the best tools)
Another way for you to destroy these large stones is to use Pals that have a level in Mining under their Work Stability List. (Rushboar is one of the earlier Pals that can be useful for this)
Certain Pals will boost the efficiency you have when it comes to destroying Stone and other nodes, which can speed things up when you need to collect large amounts.
3) Building A Stone Pit
Another way for you to get Stone is to build a Stone Pit, which is a structure that has an infinite amount of Stone that you can mine.
Instead of working your way at the Stone Pit, you will need to get a Pal that can mine ore as previously mentioned, and add them to your Pals at your base.
A Pal that has Mining will automatically begin farming Stone for you if you have this set up and if they don’t, all you need to do is pick them up and throw them at the Stone Pit.
4) Purchasing Stone From Wandering Merchant
While this might not be the best way to get Stone and can end up being a waste if you need a lot, you can purchase stone from a Wandering Merchant.
Each Stone that you purchase will cost 10 Gold and while this is cheap, it can be considered a waste if you are saving up to buy something else.
It would be better to gather stone, craft a pickaxe and mine the large rocks to get a good amount of Stone instead of buying this material.
Stone Uses
Stone is required for building some of the structures that you will need to progress in the game as these will allow you to eventually progress to better technology and structures.
Aside from being used for structures, the Stone Tier often has you using a Stone Pickaxe or Stone Hatchet and even requires this material for crafting arrows.
There are several uses for Stone, which makes it necessary to have a Stone Pit generating this material for you to use later when you need it.

Verdict
Some may think that 100 stones is already a lot but this is too little because there are a lot of structures that need to be built and several items you will be crafting often.
A single Stone Pit in your base with a Pal working at it is already enough to keep a good stock at your base for you to consume when you build and craft.
Certain Pals will collect Stone from the Stone Pit once it has been farmed and will automatically place them in a nearby container. (Attempting to collect it yourself will often encumber you)
