Being a mount, Reptyro Cryst may be ridden and controlled to attack different nodes to efficiently gather materials from them.
When it comes to a base, this Pal will often mine from any available nodes or a Mining Pit, which it does quite well.
Partner Skill
Reptyro Cryst has the Ice-loving Beast Partner Skill, which is the same as Reptyro’s Partner Skill as it provides the same effects.
This allows you to ride Reptyro Cryst once you have crafted the Reptyro Cryst Saddle, which must first be unlocked in your Technology Menu before you can make it at a Pal Workbench.
Reptyro Cryst will be more efficient when it comes to mining if you are riding it, which makes it easier to destroy nodes when you are farming certain materials.

Verdict
Freezing enemies is a great way to make them vulnerable and with the many Ice Active Skills that Reptyro Cryst has, this may happen now and then.
If you need a Pal that can preserve food better, Reptyro Cryst may be assigned to structures that require cooling as it is more efficient at doing this than other Ice Pals.
Breeding Reptyro Cryst may be a faster way of obtaining this Pal but you will only receive it at level 1, which makes it necessary to level it up afterward.
