Paldium is one of the main resources in Palworld, which is needed from the start of the game even until you have progressed further.
Known to be a resource of supernatural power, this provides power to some of the items and structures that you create.
There are a few ways to get this resource and once you have progressed a bit, a lot more can be obtained with the right tools.
How To Get Paldium Fragments?
1) Picking Up Paldium Fragments
Paldium Fragments can sometimes be found lying on the ground and these may be picked up during the earlier parts of the game to provide you with the material.
Some of these can be spotted from a distance thanks to their blue color and a small shimmer that hints you can pick up the material.
Players will often end up picking up Paldium Fragments when they don’t have much as these are needed to craft Pal Spheres and can be a big help for fresh starts.
2) Mining Stone (Drops Paldium Fragments)
There are tons of large rocks that can be found around Palpagos Island and if you mine them, you won’t just get Stone from them, you can also get Paldium Fragments.
While the amount of this material in large stones is low, this is one of the best ways to get Paldium Fragments early in the game. (A pickaxe is recommended for any type of mining)
As you progress through the game, you won’t need to resort to this since there will be other methods to get Paldium Fragments.
3) Mining Small Paldium Nodes
Small Paldium Nodes can often be found in certain areas, especially if you are starting the game because the Plateau of Beginnings has a lot of them around.
These can be mined to get you a good amount of Paldium Fragments that you can use later on but you will need to make sure you have a Pickaxe or mining them will take too long.
Much like any other destroyable resource in the game, these nodes will respawn from time to time and it would be ideal to build near them while your character is still at a lower level.
4) Mining Large Paldium Nodes in Caves
You may have already seen a ton of small Paldium Ore nodes but there are even bigger ones that provide you with even more of the material.
These large Paldium Ore chunks can be found inside caves, which are scattered all over the map for you to explore but be careful, enemies can sometimes be found inside.
It would be best if you had a good amount of weight on you if you plan to get Paldium Fragments from caves, otherwise, it will be a long walk back to your base.
5) Processing Stone into Paldium Fragments
Once you have progressed a bit in the game, you will eventually be able to unlock the Crusher after reaching Level 8.
This can be used to craft Paldium Fragments at the cost of Stone and this needs to be worked on by a Water Pal. (Requires Watering Skill)
Each Paldium Fragment requires 5 Stone, which makes it a good idea to have a Stone Pit in your base producing a good supply of Stone.
Paldium Fragment Uses
One of the very first uses for Paldium is for crafting Pal Spheres, which are tools that are used to capture and tame Pals, making them your loyal companions.
After you have progressed in the game, you will be able to craft better spheres such as the Mega Sphere, Giga Sphere, Hyper Sphere, Ultra Sphere, Legendary Sphere, and Ultimate Sphere.
Progressing further into the game allows you to unlock various weapons, armor, structures, and various other items that will require Paldium Fragments.
Verdict
While smashing up rocks will provide you with Paldium, your best bet is to focus on finding the blue ore formations later when you have a pickaxe to get around 5 per ore.
Paldium is required in both the early and later stages of the game, which makes it important to save up on these for later.
You can use your fists and other weapons to damage Paldium Ore that you find but using a pickaxe is the fastest way to farm Paldium Fragments.
