Lamballs are a type of Pal that resembles a round Lamb, thus giving it the name these creatures may seem to be all cuddly and cute but they are hard workers.
You will often see these Pals during the earlier parts of the game and stronger ones can be found later once you progress through the game.
These Pals are known to be good choices when it comes to working at a base as they can craft items, transport materials, and provide you with Wool.

Lamball Uses
This Pal does more than just crafting and transporting, it is also a good builder that can take a lot of work off of your hands at your base.
You can also assign Lamball to a Ranch, which will cause it to drop Wool from time to time that can be used for crafting as well as making Cloth.
While it may seem a bit harsh, the Lamball can be used as a shield to block incoming damage that your character would receive.
Partner Skill
The Fluffy Shield Partner Skill may be used if you have a Lamball summoned, which causes your character to pick up the Pal and hold it in front of them.
This causes the Lamball to take damage from enemies but will also reduce its health based on the damage that should be received.
You can use this as a way to block damage while you move in on enemies or hold the Lamball in front of you while you use firearms to shoot your enemies.

Verdict
Lamballs are cute but if you are around Level 1 to Level 5, you might want to be careful when fighting a group of these Pals unprepared as they may gang up on you.
Having a Lamball or two at the start of the game is a good way to get you started with building and crafting so you can focus on other tasks.
The Fluffy Shield ability of the Lamball can be useful when it comes to a firefight with humans or when fighting wild Pals from afar when using guns.
