Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Open Shabby Wooden Doors (Blighted Village)

If you have found your way to the Blighted Village, you will notice that there are several structures that can be explored and one of these is a Blacksmith’s Building.

Entering this building requires that you obtain its key somewhere within the Blighted Village but there are other ways to get into the basement too.

Once you get past the Shabby Wooden Door, you will be able to freely loot all the items found inside the basement.

How To Open Shabby Wooden Doors?

To open the Shabby Wooden Doors, you will need to find the Old Key that is used to unlock it and this is located within the same building.

Once you have obtained the Old Key, you may simply approach the Shabby Wooden Door and interact with it to unlock the door.

This provides you with a way to get into the basement but if you notice the spider web within the building above, you can destroy that to jump down too.

Another way to open the Shabby Wooden Door would be to pick the lock and this is something that Astarion is good at or any other Rogue character.

Where To Get Old Key?

The Old Key is hidden in plain sight if you enter the building above the Wooden Shabby Door and you can find this key on top of a crate near the fireplace.

You will notice that there are several Goblins in the area and when you first enter the Blighted Village, a cutscene will begin.

Passing the required ability check for the cutscene will allow you to roam freely without the Goblins attacking you, giving you easy access to looting the Blighted Village.

Verdict

Unlocking the Wooden Shabby Door is a good way to enter a room full of loot but there is more to it since a Wooden Chest contains a quest item.

The quest item is related to the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest, which is later tied to the blueprints you find near the building.

Since there are multiple ways to get inside of the building even without the key, some players tend to just jump down instead but this can deal fall damage if you are not careful.
