Jormuntide Ignis is the Fire Variant of Jormuntide which is known from legend to have been a warrior who was wrongly convicted and punished by being thrown into a volcano.
This Dragon and Fire Pal now seeks vengeance and is known to be a rare species of Jormuntide, being only obtainable by breeding or searched for in a Wildlife Sanctuary.
Jormuntide Ignis features an overhaul of its abilities, which are mainly Fire Active Skills instead of Water Attacks like its original variant.

Jormountide Ignis may be found in the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary located north of Mount Obsidian or may be hatched from an egg that may be found in the wild.
Jormuntide Ignis Uses
Jormuntide Ignis has Active Skills that mostly deal Fire Damage but it does have Dragon and Electricity Attacks as well.
Once you have captured a Jormuntide Ignis, you will be able to ride it if you have crafted the Jormuntide Ignis Saddle.
Jormuntide Ignis is one of the best Fire Pals to have at your base for smelting Ore or cooking food as it does this very fast.
Partner Skill
This Pal has the Stormbringer Lava Dragon Partner Skill, which allows you to ride it if you have crafted the required saddle.
While riding Jormuntide Ignis, you will be able to use any Active Skills that it has equipped and may even attack enemies with your weapons.
Additionally, Jormuntide Ignis will have enhanced Fire Attacks while you are mounting it, allowing you to deal more damage to your enemies.

Jormuntide Ignis is considered the best Fire Pal to have at your base since it can quickly smelt ore and will cook your food faster than most Pals can.

Verdict
Equipping Jormuntide Ignis with Fire Active Skills will allow you to use them while you are riding the Fire Pal, which is a good idea since any Fire Attacks it performs will be enhanced.
Flying around the map to gather eggs can give you a chance to get one that will hatch into Fire Ignis but this is mostly rare and it may be better to capture one from the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary.
Keeping a Jormuntide Ignis at your base will allow it to automatically take care of any tasks that require Kindling and it will do this efficiently, which can save you a lot of time.
