How To Investigate & Expose Kagha in Baldur’s Gate 3

With the Druids’ Grove in danger, Kagha has decided to have the Rite of Thorns performed to protect the grove but has also made her choice to kick the Tieflings out.

This has become a concern to Zevlor who has asked you to convince Kagha to change her mind, which was no success.

The remaining options you have are to clear a path for the Tieflings or get rid of Kagha but there happens to be one more option, which is to expose her secret.

What is Kagha Hiding?

It turns out that Kagha had been conversing with the Shadow Druids of Cloakwood, who have been influencing her too in several ways.

Eventually, this would lead to Kagha willingly giving the Grove to the Shadow Druids, who would take over and change everything if not stopped.

To expose Kagha to this secret, you would need to start the Investigate Kagha quest, which later allows you to put a stop to her plans.

How To Start Investigate Kagha?

Kagha’s chest in the Servant’s Quarters

Investigate Kagha may be started once you find a Half-Torn Note inside of her chest (Kagha’s Chest) which can be found in the Servant’s Quarters.

This is located at the back of one of the bookshelves and may easily be reached by following a small path going behind it.

Kagha’s Chest will be locked, leaving you with the option to steal her key or to pickpocket the chest, which may be the better option.

Once the chest has been opened, you will need to take the Half-Torn Note and read it to begin the quest to Investigate Kagha.

How To Expose Kagha?

Wooden Crevice in the Druid’s Sanctuary

After you get the Investigate Kagha quest, a location will be revealed as the spot mentioned in the Half-Torn Note, which you must head to.

This will lead you to the Druid’s Sanctuary where a Wooden Crevice may be found, which contains a Letter to Kagha but before you can get to it, you will need to fight enemies there.

These enemies include Ancient Mud Mephits and Wood Woads, which need to be dealt with to save passage to the large tree where the letter may be found in the Wooden Crevice.

Reading the letter will allow you to proceed with the quest, which also reveals that the Emerald Grove will soon belong to the Shadow Druids thanks to Kagha.

members of the Shadow Druids

You can make it back to the Emerald Grove quickly by fast traveling to the Emerald Grove Environs waypoint and making your way back to Kagha.

Upon speaking to Kagha, you can choose to tell Kagha that you know the truth and expose her plan of giving the grove to the Shadow Druids.

This will result in the members of the Shadow Druids revealing themselves and depending on your dialogue with Kagha, she will side with you or attack you.

After a fight with the Shadow Druids, you may speak to Kagha, who has decided to stop the ritual and allow the Tieflings to stay.

This will allow Kagha to survive the ordeal unless you fail to convince her during the dialogue parts of the cutscene before the battle.

Kagha will ask you to help rescue Halsin from the Goblins, who will eventually see that she is punished for her wrongdoings. (The harshness depends on other events too)

Verdict

When it comes to the Save The Refugees quest, the Investigate Kagha quest plays a huge role in the outcome of the story.

Kagha eventually is punished for siding with the Shadow Druids but realizing her mistake and taking sides with you against them is somewhat redemption in a way for her.

Investigating Kagha or rescuing Halsin first is one of the better steps that you can take instead of killing her due to her stubbornness.
