BG3: The Mind-Archive Interface Location & How to Use It

You may find some pretty messed up things in the Necrotic Laboratory, which is a location you pass by when you are in pursuit of Ketheric Thorm after your fight.

Eventually, you might find yourself exploring the area and this leads you to find several experiments, which include the Mind-Archive Interface.

This device appears to be used to connect minds to a severed head, allowing you to speak to the ones that the brains have been taken from.

Where To Find Mind-Archive Interface?

Mind-Archive Interface location map

The Mind-Archive Interface is located between the Morgue and part of the Necrotic Laboratory, which is also where you may find the Resonance Stone.

You may reach the Mind-Archive Interface by jumping over a gap, which all your characters should be able to do since it is a small distance.

How To Use Mind-Archive Interface?

Using Mind-Archive Interface

To use the Mind-Archive Interface, you will need to interact with it and this will cause a small window to appear, which allows you to insert an item.

This allows you to insert different minds that you find into it, and some are near the Mind-Archive Interface that you can use to test it out.

Once a mind has been inserted into the device, you will be able to interact with the severed head nearby and speak to whoever owns the brain.

Inserting The Waking Mind

The Waking Mind is one of the brains that you find within the Necrotic Laboratory, and this is one that you will want to get your hands on.

You may find the Waking Mind in the Necrotic Laboratory by solving the Node Puzzle nearby and bringing it back to the device.

If you speak to the severed head with the Waking Mind inserted, this leads to a conversation that will eventually allow you to obtain the Githzerai Mind Barrier condition.

The Githzerai Mind Barrier condition provides one character with an advantage against Intelligence Saving Throws.

Verdict

The Mind-Archive Interface seems to be useful for obtaining the Githzerai Mind Barrier condition, but you can also use it to access other minds that you have found.

These may even include the ones you obtained during Act I if you manage to set them aside, allowing you to experience more lore from the game.

If you don’t have the Waking Mind yet, it will be necessary to complete the Necrotic Laboratory Puzzle to get it and obtain the Githzerai Mind Barrier condition.
