Jaheira is one of the characters that you meet in Act II that may later be recruited after you have progressed with the main story of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Her build is originally a High Half-Elf Druid that features the Circle of Land subclass and the Soldier background, making her quite the addition to your party.
While she is initially a High Harper NPC that resides in the Last Light Inn, you may later have her permanently join you near the end of Act II.
Where To Find Jaheira?
You will first meet Jaheira at the Last Light Inn but once the assault on Moonrise Tower begins, she will soon be available for recruitment.
After fighting with Ketheric Thorm, you may recruit her at the top of Moonrise Towers near the entrance to the Hollow Tower.
How To Recruit Jaheira?
To recruit Jaheira, you will need to invite her to join you before the assault on Moonrise Tower begins and this happens once the Nightsong has been freed.
You will need to follow the path that involves saving the Nightsong (Dame Aylin) and making sure that Shadowheart does not kill her.
Upon reaching the top of the tower, you will fight Ketheric Thorm with help from the Nightsong and if Jaheira survives, you will be able to speak with her and ask her to join you permanently.
If you fail to invite her to join your party temporarily at the entrance of Moonrise Tower where the Harpers join the attack, you may still recruit her but this is only possible if she has survived.
Jaheira Uses
Jaheira is a useful Druid to have alongside your party in battle and makes use of her Circle of the Land subclass, which involves spellcasting and support.
Her starting weapons include the Sylvan Scimitar, which adds its user’s Spellcasting Ability Modifier to Attack Rolls instead of the Dexterity Modifier. (Her other weapon is a Scimitar +1)
Jaheira learns multiple shapeshifting abilities as she levels up, which includes a selection of different creatures that can be useful in certain situations.
The spells she obtains as she levels up often include those that can damage enemies, disable them, or support her allies while she also learns to shapeshift into even more creatures.
Jaheira Romance
Previously in Baldur’s Gate 2, Jaheira was one of the characters that could be romanced but in Baldur’s Gate 3, this does not appear to be an option.
She does however have a Personal Quest called The High Harper, which eventually allows you to recruit another companion named Minsc.
Keeping Jaheira Alive
To recruit Jaheira, she must not die during Act II and will eventually appear at the top of Moonrise Towers.
A good way to ensure her survival is to invite her to join you during the assault and make sure that she doesn’t get killed as you make your way to Ketheric Thorm.
During the fight with Ketheric Thorm, you will easily be able to take out his health and can also keep Jaheira out of danger by having your other characters push the attack.
Verdict
Jaheira can be a useful addition to your team if you require a Druid and will permanently stay at your camp if you successfully recruit her.
Choosing different spells as she levels up will allow you to prepare her to be a support or offensive character to have in fights.
It is still possible to recruit Minsc even if Jaheira perishes during her Companion Quest but it would still be better to have both of them just in case you want to switch out characters later.
