When your adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3 begins, you will find yourself aboard the Nautiloid and will eventually explode as you make your way through the ship.
After running into Lae’zel, you will reach a room where Shadowheart is caged inside a pod, but this is not the only thing you find in the room.
Across the room from where Shadowheart is will be a table that has an Elaborate Reliquary on top of it but this is locked and may be opened once you find its key.
Elaborate Reliquary Location
The Elaborate Reliquary is in the room where you find Shadowheart trapped in a pod, which is just across the room.
You will stumble upon this room right after Lae’zel attempts to ambush you but instead of getting into a fight with this fighter, you join up.
How To Open Elaborate Reliquary?
There will be a room to the north if you are using the initial point of view where you may find a long hall but before you proceed a Dead Thrall can be seen lying on the floor.
If you open her inventory, there will be a Gold Key that you may loot, and this is what you will need to open the Elaborate Reliquary.
Take the key and make your way to the Elaborate Reliquary (Chest) and interact with it to open its contents and loot what you want.
Elaborate Reliquary Contents
After you have used the Gold Key that you took from the Dead Thrall, you will be able to open the Elaborate Reliquary and obtain the following items.
- 1 Onyx
- 15 Gold
Verdict
The Elaborate Reliquary is the very first locked chest that you find in the game, which should be a tutorial on how to open locked objects with keys. (There are other ways later)
Once you have obtained the contents from the Elaborate Reliquary, you can later sell the Onyx that you find and keep the rest of the Gold for purchases you make later.
Players may attempt to destroy the Elaborate Reliquary, and this won’t deal any damage but later on, other chests may be destroyed with stronger attacks.
