Baldur’s Gate 3 has a lot in store for you even in the first act and one of the side quests that you may run into is called Finish The Masterwork Weapon.
This is obtained in multiple ways such as finding the weapons for the blueprints or finding a journal in the Blighted Village.
Eventually, you will need to obtain materials that will be used to craft a Masterwork Weapon back at the forge in the Blighted Village.
Where To Get Materials?
When it comes to the materials that are needed, the only real issue would be the Sussur Tree Bark, which is an important part of the Masterwork Weapon.
1) Sussur Tree Bark
The Sussur Tree Bark can be found in the Underdark and there are multiple ways for you to venture into the area to find the large Sussur Tree.
You will of course need to fight your way through a few enemies, which include Hook Horrors and a Drow Mage who happens to be fond of them.
2) Masterwork Base Weapon
The Masterwork Weapon that you craft depends on the base weapon that you obtain and there are three options when it comes to the result.
You will be able to create a Sussur weapon with either a Dagger, Sickle, or Greatsword and this can only be done once, so choose wisely.
How To Make The Masterwork Weapon?
Once you have the Sussur Tree Bark, make your way to the furnace in the Blacksmith’s Building in the Blighted Village.
Interact with the forge and use the Sussur Tree Bark to create a fusion of strange flame within it, which alters its color to a blueish or cyan glow.
After the forge is prepared, interact with it again and choose either a Dagger, Sickle, or Greatsword from your inventory to use to make a Sussur Weapon.
Master Work Combinations
The following are the different Sussur Weapons that can be created via the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest:
- Sussur Dagger
- Sussur Sickle
- Sussur Greatsword
All these weapons are stronger versions of their base weapon with the additional special feature that allows them to silence targets that are hit.
This makes these weapons perfect against Spell Casters, giving you the advantage of disabling their ability to cast spells against you.
Verdict
The Sussur Tree is easy to find in the Underdark and all you need to do is make sure you can take out the enemies as you push your way towards the Sussur Tree Bark.
The Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest is one of the earliest that you can get in Act I and should you create a Sussur Weapon early on, this can be a huge advantage against certain enemies.
Unfortunately, you can only craft one Sussur Weapon with the Sussur Tree Bark and won’t be able to get any more, making this an important choice for later.
