How To Get Rid of Enemy of Justice Condition in Baldur’s Gate 3

Sometimes attacking certain targets in Baldur’s Gate 3 can get you in trouble, such as friendly NPCs or enemies that you are temporarily not hostile against.

This can result in you getting the Enemy of Justice, which is described as wanted for killing a guard and this makes you a potential target of some enemies.

While this condition should only be temporary, others have had difficulty removing this and consider the effects a nuisance when playing.

How To Get Enemy of Justice?

Getting the Enemy of Justice condition is done by killing a guard or certain NPCs in the presence of their comrades.

If you are caught doing this, the condition will be applied to the character who has done the attack, making them want.

You can view the condition near the portrait of the character with Enemy of Justice to see a bit more detail regarding it.

Enemy Of Justice Effects

The Enemy of Justice condition will make certain characters hostile towards the party member that is affected.

This can cause certain targets to attack you or other NPCs to be hostile towards you during a conversation.

Enemy of Justice is a condition that can make things more difficult for you by forcing you to face the consequences one way or another.

How To Remove Enemy of Justice?

The enemy of justice condition can be removed by defeating the remaining witnesses to your crime, which means you need to kill any lingering enemies.

It is said that you can clear this condition by having your character killed and resurrect them afterward but some report that this doesn’t work.

Others have noticed that even with the Enemy of Justice condition, not all NPCs will be hostile and sometimes it is just your enemies. (Making it difficult to have dialogue with them)

Enemy of Justice Bug

Enemy of Justice appears to be bugged and is often noticed when you are in the Goblin Camp or Shattered Sanctum.

When attacking the Goblins in the Shattered Sanctum or killing Minthara, the Enemy of Justice condition may be applied.

This, however, does not seem to make other NPCs hostile to you during Act I and may as well just be a visual bug.

Verdict

The Enemy of Justice condition only applies to one character, which makes it an option for you to bring them along when entering certain areas or speaking to certain NPCs.

While the Enemy of Justice condition appears to be bugged at times, this is not always the case and it may go away if you finish off any stragglers left behind.

If you are trying to progress with the main story and this condition becomes a problem, it may be best to temporarily switch out the party member with Enemy of Justice.
