BG3: How To Get Pixie Blessing in Shadow-Cursed Lands

Baldur’s Gate 3 provides you with a lot of options when it comes to progressing through the story and one of these is to free a certain Pixie from the Moonlantern.

As you know, the Moonlantern protects you from the darkness in the Shadow-Cursed Lands but once you get it, you have the option to help a certain Pixie.

This is connected to the Pixie Blessing later, which is an alternative to the Moonlantern that also protects you from the harsher parts of the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

How To Get The Moonlantern?

The Moonlantern is carried by a Drider named Kar’niss, who can be encountered in multiple ways depending on which path you take.

There is only one Moonlantern that you can get your hands on in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, meaning you will have to take it from the Drider.

Once you defeat Kar’niss and take the Moonlantern or convince him to give it to you, a cutscene begins where you hear Dolly Dolly Dolly the Pixie cry for help.

How To Get Pixie Blessing?

freeing Dolly Dolly Dolly

To get the Pixie Blessing, you will first need to get the Moonlantern and once you do, you will have the option to free Dolly Dolly Dolly from the Moonlantern.

Despite the narrator’s comments, Dolly Dolly Dolly appears to be friendly and upon releasing her, she will give you the Filigreed Feywild Bell.

Releasing her already grants you the Pixie Blessing but leaving the Shadow-Cursed Lands will remove it, which won’t be an issue.

If you lose the Pixie Blessing, all you need to do is use the Filigreed Feywild Bell and Dolly Dolly Dolly will grant you the Pixie Blessing again.

Should You Free The Pixie?

Freeing the Pixie (Dolly Dolly Dolly) does not have any negative outcomes in the game; instead, it has two things that are good to consider.

The first is that you are doing a good deed by releasing the Pixie from being imprisoned in the Moonlantern and the second, you get unlimited usage of her bell.

This allows you to use the bell she has given you as many times as you want to stay protected in the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

Filigreed Feywild Bell

The Filigreed Feywild Bell is a small trinket gifted to you by Dolly Dolly Dolly after she asks you what you want in return for freeing her.

Described as an ornately decorated bell that is tarnished with age, the bell rings with a mischievous giggle, which most likely is a connection to Dolly Dolly Dolly.

Having the Filigreed Feywild Bell gives you the ability to apply the Pixie Blessing as many times as you want, making it safe to leave and return to the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

Verdict

Freeing the Pixie is a good way to provide yourself with a way to protect yourself from the more dangerous parts of the Shadow-Cursed Lands, which affect each member of your party.

Unlike the Moonlantern, your party will not have to stay within the radius of a lantern since each one of your members gains the Pixie Blessing.

This makes freeing Dolly Dolly Dolly a good choice so that your party can be more spread out when exploring or in combat within the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
