Phalar Aluve Location & How to Get in Baldur’s Gate 3

Exploring the Underdark will result in you finding many secrets and one of them that is hidden in plain sight is a melodious sword known as the Phalar Aluve.

This blade with a Drow inscription seems to have been freshly made and has been left in a large stone for those who are worthy to take.

Obtaining this sword provides you with a way to either put your enemies at a disadvantage or give your allies an advantage in battle.

Where To Find Phalar Aluve?

The Phalar Aluve may be found near the entrance to the Selunite Outpost around the southwest area in the Underdark.

You can reach it from multiple locations within the Underdark and will find it at around (116, -192) and will find it stuck in a large rock.

How To Get Phalar Aluve?

Once you reach the large rock where Phalar Aluve is stuck, you may interact with it to begin a cutscene where it may be removed.

You will have the option to do a Strength or Religion Check, which will determine how this Rare Longsword will be removed.

After passing an Ability Check, Phalar Aluve will be placed in the inventory of whoever has removed it from the large stone.

Phalar Aluve Melody

What makes the Phalar Aluve unique is that it grants you the ability to use Phalar Aluve: Melody, giving you the choice of choosing Phalar Aluve Shriek or Phalar Aluve Sing.

Phalar Aluve Shriek causes enemies within range to have a 1d4 penalty to saving throws and causes them to receive 1d4 Thunder damage.

Phalar Aluve Sing boosts cause allies within range to gain a 1d4 bonus to Attack Rolls and Saving throws.

These effects are removed when the sword stops singing, which happens when the sword is unequipped.

Verdict

Phalar Aluve is considered a useful weapon to get your hands on once you reach the Underdark, especially since it can provide your party with bonus Attack Rolls and Saving Throws.

Obtaining this weapon is quite easy since you can always save before trying to get it and reload if you fail once or more times.

In addition to its ability to give enemies a disadvantage, you can use Rush Attack if you have proficiency with the weapon to position yourself better.
