When it comes to weapons of finesse, one of the Legendary Rapiers in the game can deal serious damage and this is called the Duellist’s Prerogative.
This Legendary Rapier can be used to compel enemies to attack you, which makes them suffer from Bleeding damage while your other attacks deal Necrotic Damage.
Overall, this weapon is a great way to deal loads of damage to your enemies, and obtaining it can easily be done in Act III if you follow certain quests.

Dueller’s Enthusiasm
If you are not dual-wielding and have nothing equipped in your offhand, you will be able to make an extra attack against a target that you are dueling with.
Duellist’s Prerogative Special Features
Elegant Duellist
The wielder scores a Critical Hit when they roll a 19 with their attacks, allowing them to land Critical Hits more often.
This also provides you with an additional Reaction for each turn, allowing you to use certain attacks or actions.
Withering Cut
Provides you with the ability to use a Reaction to deal additional Necrotic Damage to your target that is equal to your Proficiency Bonus.
How To Get a Duellist’s Prerogative?
The Duellist’s Prerogative is obtainable as a reward for completing the Save Vanra quest, which involves you saving Vanra after learning from Lora that she has been kidnapped.
This also involves taking down Auntie Ethel in Act III, which is tied to multiple quests but can be finished as early as you complete the Help the Hag Survivors quest.
Verdict
Saving Vanra is not that much of a hassle since you won’t need to fight Auntie Ethel right away and this allows you to get the Legendary Rapier so you can use it later in the fight.
While most players may enjoy dual wielding, the Duellist’s Prerogative does have its uses if you are using it as a single weapon without offhand items equipped.
Using the Duellist’s Prerogative allows you to deal several instances of damage, which include the initial attack, Necrotic Damage as well as bleeding if you are dueling with a target.
