Reading the description of the Ingot in-game alone is more than enough to give you a hint of what this material is used for but that’s not all.
Ingots are a valuable resource during the earlier parts of your adventures in Palworld and these are necessary if you want to be more efficient.
This processed material requires that you have a Fire Type Pal as you will need to melt some Ore before you can get your hands on Ingots.
How To Get Ingots?
Ingots are processed by refining the Ore that you have collected, which is either from mining it from stone or ore nodes that can be found.
Once you have Ore, you will need to build yourself a Primitive Furnace as this is where you can craft Ingots but there is another catch.
You will need a Fire Type Pal added to your base as a worker as they will ignite the fire as well as craft the Ingots for you.
Before you can get a lot of Ingots, you will first need to figure out for what the Ore to be used in Palworld.
Pals That Drop Ingot
Currently, only a few Pals are known to drop Ingots and these are Bushi and Bushi Noct, who drop around 2-3 when they are defeated.
This is the same for the Alpha variants of these Pals and while this is not the best way to get Ingots, it may be good to consider if you are in an area where there are plenty of them roaming.
Since both Bushi and Bushi Noct can be found in larger numbers on certain parts of Palpagos Island, this can be a good way to get a good amount if needed as you are exploring.
Ingot Uses in Palworld
Ingots are used for better crafting equipment, and they can also be processed to make materials such as Nails, which are often needed with this resource.
You can craft new weapons and tools that are better than their stone variations and later, Ingots will also be needed for crafting armor.
Aside from being used to craft your equipment, you can also use Ingots for crafting structures such as the Metal Chest that is used for storage.

Verdict
Everyone will start by punching stone and wood or picking up materials from the ground but eventually, it will be time for an upgrade.
The transition from stone weapons and tools to metal ones can make a huge difference in the game, which is why it’s best to get Ore as soon as possible to refine.
Once you have upgraded to a Metal Pickaxe, obtaining Ore will be a piece of cake as you will be able to farm it quickly.
