During Act II, you will eventually be making your way to the Reithwin Mausoleum in search of Ketheric Thorm’s Relic.
Upon reaching the entrance, you meet Raphael who wants you to kill a creature named Yurgir but once you find this Orthon, you can help him instead.
If you end up speaking with Yurgir after following his pet, you can offer to help him but this requires a bit of searching for one last enemy that he was tasked to kill.
Where To Find Yurgir?
Once you make your way into the Gauntlet of Shar, you will need to speak with Yurgir to figure out why he is trapped and it is later revealed that this was Raphael’s doing.
You will find Yurgir near the Gauntlet of Shar as he will be on the lower level which you can access by going to the east part of the map and by jumping across a set of broken stairs.
How To Break Yurgir’s Contract?
The first thing to figure out is what Yurgir’s contract is, which is what binds him to where he is currently dwelling thanks to Raphael.
Yurgir was assigned to kill all the Dark Justiciar, but Raphael had tricked one of them into transforming into several rats, which made this impossible.
To break Yurgir’s contract, you will have to deal with the rats or one person, who is named Lyrthindor.
How To Defeat The Rats?
You may encounter several rats as you make your way through the mausoleum but eventually, after attacking or killing some, they will all be found in one spot.
This is the location found under the Gauntlet of Shar, where you can find several bones piled and a path leading down.
The fight against the rats may appear to be a big challenge due to their number but they all take only one hit to kill, which makes it best to have attacks that affect an area.
Once all the rats and their reinforcements have been killed, Lyrthindor will appear in a cutscene and attack you afterward.
Consequences For Helping Yurgir
Helping Yurgir does not free him because this caused a breach in his contract as Raphael states that a random party was not supposed to kill the Dark Justiciar.
This forces Yurgir into following Raphael as he will now sign a new and better contract, leaving everything left behind for you to loot.
Later you may find Yurgir in the House of Hope as well as later in the game since he will be one of your allies later that join you in an epic fight.
Verdict
Yurgir may be an evil creature but Raphael has tricked him into their deal and he wants out, which may make the Orthon useful for later.
Raphael does not seem to show any signs of anger during the encounter once the contract has been breached and simply leaves since Yugir will be signing a new one.
If you have Astarion in your party, he will be upset with your decision to help Yugir and you will need to pass a Persuasion or Deception Check to solve your quarrel.
