Adamantine is known to be one of the strongest materials in Baldur’s Gate 3, which is forged by melting Mithral Ore and using a Mould to choose what is made.
When you explore the Grymforge, you will eventually run into the Mithral Veins that you can mine for Mithral Ore and later combine these with a Mould to create an Adamantine weapon.
The only catch to the whole Adamantine Forge ordeal is that you can only craft 2 out of 6 of this equipment due to the lack Mithral Ore that can be found.
All Forgeable Adamantine Items
1) Adamantine Sword (Rare)
Those who favor using Longswords can either equip the Adamantine Sword as a two-handed weapon or may use a shield.
This Longsword will always deal critical hits to objects (not creatures) and will ignore a target’s resistance to Slashing Damage.
Proficiency with the Adamantine Longsword provides you with the following actions:
- Pommel Strike
- Lacerate
- Rush Attack
2) Adamantine Scimitar (Rare)
Characters with more Finesse will be more suitable to use the Adamantine Scimitar which goes well as a weapon in one hand or having an off-hand weapon equipped with it.
Like the Adamantine Longsword, this weapon also guarantees a critical hit when you attack an object, and also ignores Resistance to Slashing Damage.
Proficiency with the Adamantine Scimitar provides you with the following actions:
- Flourish
- Lacerate
3) Adamantine Shield (Rare)
If you are a fan of using a shield along with other weapons, you can craft the Adamantine Shield as it goes well with the Adamantine Mace or Adamantine Sword.
You can always use another weapon of choice with the Adamantine Shield and aside from its Shield Bash feature, using this shield prevents enemies from landing critical hits on you.
When the Adamantine Shield is equipped, you gain the Shield Bash feature, which allows you to knock an enemy prone if they attack you and don’t succeed in a Dexterity Saving Throw.
4) Adamantine Mace (Rare)
Those who fancy the Adamantine Mace will be able to deal a good amount of Bludgeoning Damage to their enemies, which is quite a useful type of damage to have.
Objects that you attack with the Adamantine Mace will take critical damage, making this weapon great for destroying some of the sturdier objects in the game. (Ignore bludgeoning resistance)
Having proficiency with the Adamantine Mace will provide you with the Concussive Smash.
5) Adamantine Scale Mail (Very Rare)
Medium Armor users will be able to take advantage of the benefits that the Adamantine Scale Mail provides, which reduces all damage by 1.
Additionally, those who perform a melee attack that hits you will be sent Reeling for 2 turns, which adds a -1 penalty to their attack rolls.
Enemies will not be able to land critical hits against you, but the armor also gives you a disadvantage with Stealth Checks and limits your Armor Class bonus from Dexterity to +2.
6) Adamantine Splint Armour (Very Rare)
Adamantine Splint Armour is probably one of the toughest pieces of armor you can get in the game, which provides you with a good amount of defense. (Reduces all damage by 2)
Like the Adamantine Scale Mail, enemies that attack you are sent Reeling but for 3 turns instead of just 2.
You will gain no AC bonus from Dexterity due to this armor, but attackers will be unable to perform critical hits on your character.
How To Craft Adamantine Equipment?
To craft Adamantine Equipment, you will need to have the necessary materials, which are Mithral Ore and a Mould of the item you want to create.
Each Mould can be found in Grymforge and you can use these once you reach the Adamantine Forge and have Mithral Ore.

The Adamantine Equipment is some of the strongest and most useful items to have in the game, especially with the damage they can do or the protection they provide.
It is possible to craft the same Adamantium Equipment more than once, which you can use to equip a single character or different ones.
There are only 2 Mithral Ore that you can find in a single run, making it necessary to choose wisely when you decide to forge Adamantine Equipment.
