Palworld may appear to be a game that is all cute and cuddly but when it comes to survival, a lot of things may change sooner than you realize.
One of these changes is the need to get rid of a Pal to free up space or to simply get a material that they provide you with.
Unlike other games where you can simply let creatures go or magically make them disappear, Palworld has you butchering the poor things with a Meat Cleaver.
How To Butcher Pals?
To butcher a Pal, you will need to put them in your Party and equip a Meat Cleaver, which will give you the option to “get rid” of them.
Summon the Pal that you want to butcher and open their menu, which will now have the option to butcher them instead of letting them.
Select the butcher option and this will complete the action but keep in mind that this is permanent and cannot be undone.
How To Get Meat Cleaver?
The Meat Cleaver is both a weapon and a tool, but it does not do that much damage and is mainly intended to butcher Pals that you no longer need or want to get rid of.
You may unlock the Meat Cleaver once you have reached Level 12 and may craft it using 5 Ingot, 20 Wood, and 5 Stone in a Primitive Workbench or any other better types.
Once you have crafted a Meat Cleaver, you will need to equip it to use it to butcher any unwanted Pals that you have.
Butcher Drops
Butchering a Pal will provide you with materials that it drops on death, which may include all its drops or only some of them. (Chances to obtain materials are random most of the time)
This means that if you capture a Pal, you get materials and if you butcher it afterward, you get materials that it drops again. (This could be a good way to farm certain materials.
You can butcher any unneeded Alpha Pals to get extra materials that only they can drop, making this a good method of getting rare loot.
Can You Butcher Humans?
If you haven’t already figured it out by now, you can catch humans when you are exploring and this will place them in your party or your Palbox.
Equipping a captured human will make them permanently yours until you decide to get rid of them and in case you are wondering, yes you can butcher them.
Butchering a human will not provide you with any meat, so don’t get any weird ideas instead, they give you whatever items they were intended to drop.
Verdict
Butchering Pals may be a little too far for most players but luckily, the whole thing is censored and there is no gore added to the action.
While this may be one of the only two methods that you can get rid of Pals, it is quite useful since you can get materials from them. (The other method is to sell them)
Make sure you check the Pals that you are going to butcher as you might accidentally chop up something from your party, which makes it best to store them first.
