If you start your journey on Palpagos Island at the Plateau of New Beginnings, you might have spotted a Level 38 Field Boss called Mammorest.
Known as the King of the Forest, Mammorest is a massive Grass Pal and a Field boss that several players encounter as they start the game.
While this Field Boss is encountered earlier in the game, it is best to face it later if you plan on defeating or capturing it.
Mammorest Location Map
The King of the Forest can be found in the Windswept Hills around (189, -477) near the Grassy Behemoth Hills waypoint just northwest of the Plateau of New Beginnings.
You can reach this Field Boss by fast traveling to the Great Eagle Statue (waypoints) and proceed to Mammorest’s location.
Fighting Mammorest, King of the Forest
Mammorest (King of the Forest) is quite large and sometimes can outrun you if you are not careful but this Field Boss won’t attack you unless provoked.
At Level 38, this Mammorest can use Sand Blast (Ground), Power Bomb (Neutral), Grass Tornado (Grass), Seed Machine Gun (Grass), and Earth Impact (Ground) Active Skills.
Its Earth Impact Active Skill allows Mammorest to cause damage in a wide area, which makes it best to keep your distance if you are lower than its level.
Using Fire Pals is advisable and if you are using ranged weapons, those that deal Fire Damage are a good choice to deal extra damage.
Aiming for Mammorest’s head or face will allow you to deal critical damage to it, which makes it good to attack from afar or from high ground. (Run and gun is a good way to defeat it)

During your encounter with Mammorest (King of the Forest), you may decide to defeat or capture this Field Boss and may get the following:
- Ancient Civilization Parts
- High Quality Pal Oil
- Leather
- Precious Pelt
Verdict
Being able to take out Mammorest during the earlier stages of the game can give you materials that you will need later and these may be useful in progressing.
If you can get lucky and capture this Field Boss, you will have a useful Pal both in battle or to work at the base but its level will be restricted to match yours if it is lower.
Sometimes you can get Mammorest to fight with other Pals by luring and getting it hit by their attacks, which can later allow you to deal the final blow or capture it.
