Palworld introduces you to primitive weapons once you start out but eventually, bows and crossbows may start to feel a little weak against some of the stronger Pals.
This is where guns come in but having a firearm isn’t just enough, you will also need to have bullets that they will fire at your targets but first, you will need Gunpowder.
Gunpowder is an important material once you have progressed in the game as it is needed for crafting the different types of ammunition that guns use.
How To Get Gunpowder?
1) Defeating Tocotoco
Gunpowder is often crafted more than it is obtained in the wild but if you are wondering how you can get this material without crafting it, your best bet is to hunt down Tocotoco.
These parrot-like Pals seem to have a thing for blowing up as they can hatch and even launch exploding eggs, which makes them a source of Gunpowder.
It is best to be careful though since a Tocotoco is capable of self-destructing, which will send you flying if not possibly kill you when it detonates.
2) Crafting Gunpowder
Gunpowder is mainly crafted at a High Quality Workbench or at Production Assembly Lines (1 and 2) and this can be done at a faster rate depending on how many Pals are helping out.
A Pal’s Handiwork work skill level will also affect the speed at which they can craft Gunpowder, making it best to have a higher level if you want this material produced faster.
The Production Assembly Line II is currently the fastest method when it comes to crafting Gunpowder and you can leave your Pals to do the work for you.
How To Craft Gunpowder?
To get a good supply of Gunpowder, it is best that you craft this material instead and this can be done at a workbench such as the High Quality Work Bench and Product Assembly Lines.
Each time you craft Gunpowder, you will need 1 Sulfur and 2 Charcoal and this can be done in bulk to craft a lot of the material in one go. (Charcoal is crafted at a furnace)
Crafting Gunpowder at Product Assembly Line will require that your base has power, which can be provided by having a Power Generator and an Electric Pal in your base. (You can assign them too)
Gunpowder Uses in Palworld
Gunpowder is used to make ammunition as mentioned earlier but you can also use it to make Frag Grenades, which is a great way to damage multiple enemies.
Each gun has its ammo type, which makes it important to craft the correct ammunition if you plan on using guns in a fight.
Gunpowder is used to craft the following:
- Assault Rifle Ammo
- Coarse Ammo
- Handgun Ammo
- Rifle Ammo
- Rocket Ammo
- Shotgun Shells
- Frag Grenade
- Frag Grenade Mk2
Verdict
Probably the most difficult part about crafting Gunpowder is obtaining Sulfur as this needs to be mined and is not that abundant in the beginning areas.
It is best to have a Sulfur Mining Base set up unless you have your weight leveled up to farm at certain Sulfur locations and haul it back to your base.
Different types of ammo are often crafted in bulk amounts, which makes it easy to stock up as long as you have a lot of Gunpowder to use.
