Palworld Wood Farm & Uses

Wood is one of the common materials in Palworld and these are obtained by cutting down trees but there is more to it than you may think.

You will be needing a lot of Wood in Palworld and this is because it is used to make most of the structures you will be building at the start and as you progress.

Luckily for you, cutting down trees on your own doesn’t always need to be done because there are multiple ways for you to get Wood.

Wood (Material) in Palworld

How To Get Wood?

1) Picking Up Wood

Picking up wood from the ground

Before you can build tools and craft structures, the first pieces of Wood that you get will need to be picked off of the ground.

This is the fastest way for you to get Wood once you start a new game so that you can craft a Stone Axe and begin cutting down trees.

Players may also resort to punching trees to get Wood early but this would take up time and stamina, so it is best to craft an axe as soon as possible.

2) Cutting Down Trees

Using Axe to chop down the trees to get the wood fast

For starters, getting the first batch of Wood that you will need will be done by picking up branches on the ground and even punching trees with your bare hands.

Once you have enough materials, you can eventually craft an Axe to chop down trees, providing you with Wood much faster.

Upgrading to a better Axe will allow you to deal more damage to trees, which will allow you to chop them down with fewer swings.

3) Building A Logging Site

building a Logging Site

Cutting down trees on your own can be tiring and may take up some time, especially if you do not have that much weight on your character.

This is why you need to build a Logging Site, which provides you with an unlimited supply of trees to farm but you don’t want to do this manually.

Once you have set up a Logging Site, you will need to capture a Pal that has Lumbering under its Work Suitability List. (Lifmunk and Eikthyrdeer are some good examples of early Pals)

Placing the Pal with Lumbering in your base will cause it to farm Wood for you and eventually, these will be moved to any nearby storage that is available or that matches the resources inside.

4) Purchasing Wood From Wandering Merchant

While not the best choice when it comes to getting Wood on Palpagos Island, you have the option to purchase this material from Wandering Merchants.

This will cost you 10 Gold for each piece of Wood, which can eventually use up all your Gold if you try to buy a ton early on in the game.

Instead of purchasing Wood from a Wandering Merchant, building a Logging Site after cutting down a few trees would be the best way to get a ton of Wood.

Wood Uses

Building the majority of the structures in the game requires you to have an abundant supply of Wood and this material is also required for several tools and weapons.

Even crafting spheres that are used to catch Pals require a certain amount of Wood, which makes this material a must-have at all times.

Once you start delving into firearms, you will need Wood to produce Charcoal, a material needed to craft Gunpowder.

Verdict

Gathering Wood on your own isn’t a bad thing but this can turn out to be an inconvenience at times since you need to roam around and carry the Wood.

Having a Logging Site in your base is the best way to generate Wood so you can continue doing other things and just return to having a large supply of the material.

Some Pals may have a higher Lumbering Work Suitability than others, which makes them better options for gathering Wood from a Logging Site.
