BG3: Saving The Fishermen At The Lower City Docks From Sahuagin

Baldur’s Gate 3 can sometimes surprise players with certain encounters and one of these happens within the Lower City, where you face off against aggressive creatures from the water.

If you happen to stumble upon the docks near the Heapside Strand waypoint, you are bound for an encounter with Sahuagins, who emerge from the water to attack the villagers.

Once the fight begins, you have the choice to save the fishermen and fight back or to run away and save yourselves from this vicious group of attackers.

Where Does The Sahuagin Attack Happen?

The Sahuagin won’t appear until you arrive at the docks, which makes this your choice whether to fight them as soon as you reach the Lower City or later when you are ready.

You will encounter the Sahuagin in the Lower City at the docks to the west of the Heapside Strand waypoint and this often happens as soon as you approach the fishermen.

How To Defeat The Sahuagin?

Killing The Sahuagin

Once the fight begins, you will want to make sure that you utilize your attacks as early as possible and even make use of the Sahuagins’ Wet condition.

Taking out one target at a time should reduce the amount of enemies that can make a move against you and moving your characters forward should have the creatures focus on your party.

Sahuagin that have appeared will have the Wet condition, making them vulnerable to additional effects if you use Lightning or Cold Damage against them.

All in all, these enemies are not hard to defeat as they are merely an encounter, but this won’t be the first time you face them.

Once you have dealt with all of the Sahuagin that have appeared, Sailor Peete will speak to you and thank you for saving them.

Rewards For Saving The Fishermen

Gold as rewards for saving the Fishermen

Defeating the Sahuagin will result in Sailor Peete rewarding you with 319 Gold but the real reward is what you can loot from the creatures.

It turns out that some of them have valuable loot that can be sold for Gold later, which makes it a good idea to loot all of them.

Verdict

The Sahuagin are a race of humanoid aquatic creatures that seem to have a knack for attacking those who are near the shore, which makes the fishermen lucky that you were around.

Failing to take out one or more Sahuagin during your turn may result in your party taking a lot of damage, especially from the stronger variants.

The Sahuagin Champion appears to have the most loot amongst its brethren, which is probably a sign that it has looted from several of its victims.
