If you have made your way to the Elfsong Tavern, you might discover that it has a pest problem and that the cellar is full of rats.
This happens to be revealed once you head into the storehouse or if you talk with one of the targets on the murder list in the Lower City, Chef Roveer.
Speaking to Roveer will result in him telling you to get rid of the rats, which starts the Roveer’s Storehouse quest.
Roveer’s Storehouse Walkthrough
To get started on the quest, speak to Chef Roveer in the Elfsong Tavern as he will be complaining about how the cats around are not doing anything.
He will ask you to take care of the rats and you can accept, which starts the quest which you can complete by heading into the storehouse.
You will find a flight of wooden stairs in the kitchen where Chef Roveer is and make your way down to the cellar by interacting with them.
Upon entering the cellar, you will immediately find yourself in a battle against several of them and this makes it important to plan out your attacks.
Your characters will be acting first, which gives you about 4 turns before the rats start rushing towards your party.
This makes it a good idea to focus on attacks that will damage multiple rats or better use, utilize the spilled Firewine, which you can ignite to damage several of them.
Once all the rats have been killed, you may head back to Chef Roover to speak with him and complete the quest.
Best Way To Kill The Rats in The Storehouse
The best way to take out the rats in the cellar is to make use of the spilled Firewine and ignite it with spells such as Fire Bolt.
Once all the Firewine has been ignited, the area where the rats are will start to burn (after the explosion if Firewine Barrels were affected) and several rats will die.
Since the area will be burning, the rest of the rats will rush towards you after your turns are over and will die from coming in contact with the flames.
Roveer’s Storehouse Rewards
Once you have killed all of the rats in the cellar, you may speak to Chef Roveer and he will reward you with 318 Gold.
Additionally, this allows you to freely enter the cellar where you can find The Emperor’s hideout for the Visit the Emperor’s Old Hideout quest.
Verdict
Players often don’t notice the Roveer’s Storehouse quest until they reach the cellar, which is often where they go to complete Visit the Emperor’s Old Hideout.
Rats have tiny health which makes them easy to kill with one hit, which makes the Firewine spills an easy way to get rid of all of them.
Once all the rats have been dealt with and the quest has been completed, you can proceed to loot the cellar and even continue exploring The Emperor’s hideout.
