Surviving The Bloomridge Park Ambush in BG3

Reaching the Lower City will give you different encounters depending on where you decide to go in Act III and one of these is in Bloomridge Park.

If you start to wander within the park, the chances are that you will eventually encounter a group of assassins who begin to attack you and anyone unlucky enough to be nearby.

Surviving the ambush is one thing but saving a certain NPC from death can reveal that someone or something is trying to reach you.

Bloomridge Park can be found near the center of the Lower City and has several points of entry that allow you to choose where you begin the ambush.

Depending on where you go, it is likely you are to find hidden enemies or they may spot you instead and initiate a cutscene before attacking you.

How To Start The Ambush?

The moment you enter Bloomridge Park, things will appear to be peaceful but if you have a way of detecting hidden enemies, the fight can start in two different ways.

Interacting with an enemy or moving in their line of sight will trigger the cutscene, where it is revealed that you are being tested by Lady Orin.

The fight begins with the assassins attacking you and during their turn, they may even attack some of the innocent bystanders in the area.

It is a good idea to keep your party close together so that they can focus on one enemy at a time and some of your targets may be stronger than others.

Your goal will be to defeat all of the attackers in the area and clear them out but during the fight, you are helped by someone.

This certain someone appears to not be themselves though and you later discover that someone is trying to get through to you.

Manip Edenosa in bg3

It turns out that you have helped by Manip Edenosa but something seems to be controlling her but it’s good to know you have a random ally.

This even causes other Fists to join you but just as the battle is over, Manip Edenosa does not survive, and this is because she was being controlled by the Elder Brain.

The Elder Brain reaches out to you in Manip’s last moments, which appears to be an invitation to side with it as you are a plan of the Grand Design.

Once the encounter is finished, you will be free to roam again but after speaking with the Elder Brain, it looks like you now have a new path to add to your future choices.

Verdict

The Elder Brain must have a reason for contacting you and if it isn’t to assimilate you, it may need your help against those who have imprisoned it.

From here you may wonder if you want to help the Elder Brain or continue with a different path, but the choice is up to you.

Orin has been following you around if you haven’t noticed by now and certain NPCs or groups will be around and under her control, including those from the ambush.
