If you are trying to get your hands on the Ceremonial Warhammer, you may have to deal with the Giant Eagles on top of the Rosymorn Monastery.
This is because the Ceremonial Warhammer is in their nest and the Ancient Giant Eagle will do anything to protect her young ones and the nest they occupy.
The Ceremonial Warhammer is in the Giant Eagle Nest, and they won’t be too happy about you stealing from them.
How To Get Ceremonial Warhammer?
Fight The Giant Eagles
One of the main approaches you can take is to simply fight the Giant Eagles and some may find this mean since the mother is just trying to protect their nest and her child.
You will need to be quick when fighting the Ancient Giant Eagle as she may call for help during the fight, which can make things more difficult.
Sneak and Steal The Warhammer
When you reach the Giant Eagle Nest, you can avoid conflict by passing an Animal Handling Check or Persuasion Check if you have used a potion or spell that lets you speak to animals.
Once you are clear to move around freely, have one of your characters sneak around the eagles and steal the Ceremonial Warhammer. (Avoid the red line of sight)
Distract The Eagles Or Use Misty Step
You may use spells such as Mage Hand to distract the Giant Eagles and even move the Ceremonial Warhammer but this can still result in you getting attacked.
Another thing that you can do is steal the Ceremonial Warhammer and use Misty Step to go as far as you can to flee from battle.
How to Defeat Giant Eagles?
If you decide to fight the Giant Eagles, you will want to focus on defeating the Ancient Giant Eagle first to avoid other Giant Eagles from being called into the fight.
Keep away from the edges as the Giant Eagles may knock you back, which can lead to you falling off and having to climb back up. (This can even kill your party members)
Take out the Ancient Giant Eagle first and follow by defeating Xavier and the nest will be yours to pillage, which includes the Ceremonial Warhammer.
Verdict
Avoiding conflict with the Giant Eagles is optional and me be best if you want to get on Halsin’s good side but other than that, there is not much of a consequence for fighting them.
The Ceremonial Warhammer is vital for solving the Rosymorn Monastery Puzzle, but similar weapons may be used in its place if you want to avoid the Giant Eagles entirely.
If you prefer to get as much experience as possible, you may fight the Giant Eagles and focus on Xavier first so that his mother summons more Giant Eagles for you to defeat.
