The Guardian of Faith is behind an Enchanted Door, but you can use Thieves’ Tools to lockpick the door, or head around the other way.

From the Rosymorn Monastery Puzzle Room (Chapel), you may go through the window on the right and will eventually reach the guardian by going through another window.

Fighting The Guardian of Faith

entering the circle around the guardian

Fighting the Guardian of Faith is simple but there are certain things that you should watch out for as it has a bit of an advantage in its circle.

Once you enter the circle around the guardian, it will become hostile and the same will happen if you make the first attack against it.

If the Guardian of Faith is hostile, it will be able to do an Opportunity Attack whenever you enter the circle, giving it a free hit.

The thing about the Guardian of Fate is that all you need to do is damage from afar because it will stay in its place and will not retaliate with anything other than melee attacks.

Should the guardian be able to hit you, this will deal damage to it as well, making it kill itself in the process of attacking you.

You can easily defeat the guardian by shooting it with arrows and spells but if you want to rush in to do melee attacks, a few turns should do the trick.

Guardian of Faith Loot

Upon being defeated, the Guardian of Faith does not seem to drop anything and will just disperse into nothing, but you can still loot the room it was guarding.

This includes the Ceremonial Battleaxe that you may use with the puzzle and other items such as scrolls in a Gilded Chest or herbs on a broken cabinet.

Verdict

The Guardian of Faith is not that tough when it comes to a fight and it also has no resistance to other attacks, making it an easy target.

The only thing you need to look out for is its counterattacks and opportunity attacks since these can end up with you getting killed.

Only by defeating the Guardian of Faith will you be able to take the Ceremonial Greataxe as moving it or entering the circle will make it hostile. (Snatch and run works too)
