Your exploration around The Risen Road can result in you discovering a lot as you make your search for the Githyanki Creche and this includes a Githyanki Patrol.
Lae’zel will rush towards the Githyanki Patrol expecting to be aided by them but only gets disrespect from Kith’rak Voss, the Knight Supreme.
Depending on how your conversation goes, you will either have to fight the Githyanki Patrol or may continue searching for the Githyanki Creche without bloodshed.
Where To Find The Githyanki Patrol?
The Githyanki Patrol may be found to the west of Waukeen’s Rest near The Risen Road and will be spotted by the time you reach the Mountain Pass.
You may even encounter a Tiefling Scout named Ellyka, who is keeping an eye on the Githyanki Patrol which seems to be very hostile.
Once you are near the Githyanki Patrol, the party notices a dragon soar above them, which is quite the display of power at this point in the game.
How To Avoid Fighting The Githyanki Patrol?
The Githyanki Patrol answers to Kith’rak Voss and depending on how Lae’zel responds, a fight will be imminent or your party will be left alone.
Should Lae’zel follow your instructions and go along with what the Knight Supreme says (Persuasion), Kith’rak will give Lae’zel orders.
Lae’zel will be ordered to take her slaves (the rest of the part) and search for the survivors of the Nautiloid crash before the Githyanki Patrol and Knight Supreme leave.
How to Make The Githyanki Patrol Hostile?
Should you choose to be honest or answer the Githyanki Patrol in a way that reveals your true intentions of finding the Creche, the Knight Supreme will leave.
Before leaving, Kith’rak Voss will instruct Sarth Baretha to kill Lae’zel and this will include the whole party as well.
Once Kith’rak Voss flies off on his dragon, the party will be engaged by Sarth Baretha and the other members of her squad.
How To Defeat The Githyanki Patrol?
Before the whole ordeal, it would be advisable to position one or two of your party members at a distance or on the Mountain Pass structure. (This gives an advantage for ranged attackers)
Lae’zel will be the closest member of the patrol and will most likely be targeted first, which is fine since she is a bit tanky.
If you have a party member with a large area of affect spell that can be cast, hitting multiple members of the Githyanki Patrol can be a huge advantage.
Sarth Baretha will often be the first enemy to charge in first and she can be a handful since she tends to evade most attacks.
Attacking her with spells is a good idea and trying to maximize your damage against her before the others rush in can be a quick way to kill her.
The Githyanki with a cape called Gish For’reth will come in later and may even use the Hold Person spell on one of your party members.
Once Gish For’reth makes his move, you can use your other party members, especially Lae’zel to focus on killing him first to break his concentration and take him out of the picture.
Focusing your attacks on Sarth Beretha will be the next step since she will continue dealing more damage but once she is dead, the fight is pretty much over.
With the two main members of the squad dead, focus your attacks on the remaining enemies, who will tend to keep their distance.
You can either kill them with the rest of your party but there are also easier ways to kill them since they will head up the structure.
This will lead to you chasing them and ending their lives on the structure or you can push them off as this will kill them or leave them prone after taking a lot of damage.
Finish off whoever is left, and the battle will be over since Kith’rak Voss and his dragon won’t be back to join the fight.
Verdict
The Githyanki Patrol can be a tough group to face, especially with an enemy such as Sarth Baretha charging at your party and her squad using powerful attacks.
It is best to avoid targeting the weaker enemies since this will give Sarth a chance to attack you up close since she can do a great deal of damage.
Avoiding the fight with the Githyanki Patrol is possible but this can cause you to miss the chance to get experience and loot them once they are defeated.
