Bibberbang Location & How to Clear it in Baldur’s Gate 3

During the Find the Mushroom Picker quest, you run into a man named Baelen who is trapped in a large area covered with Bibberbang.

Bibberbang is a type of large mushroom that explodes when it senses a physical being moving near it, which causes Noxious Fumes to spread.

What makes things worse is that there is a nearby lit torch, which turns Bibberbang Grotto into a minefield but there are still ways to clear it out.

Bibberbang Grotto Location

Bibberband Grotto location map in the Myconid Colony

You may find Bibberbang Grotto to the west of the Myconid Colony and there is a path that you can take to get there from the colony, which is near the Sussur Tree.

Before you reach the Sussur Tree, there will be a path at the bottom that you can access by climbing down some tangled vines.

Continuing along this path will lead you to the Bibberbang Grotto, where a helpless Baelen may be found and helped if you wish to do so.

How To Clear Bibberbang Grotto?

The first thing you will want to do is take out the torch because this is what will trigger the explosion once Noxious Fumes is released when the Bibberbang explodes.

You can put out the torch using Cold or Water Spells such as Freeze Ray or Create/Destroy Water to prevent chaos from happening.

Once the torch is out, you can destroy the Bibberbang with ranged attacks to clear out the area or chug on an Elixir of Poison Resistance.

Notable Loot

The following is a list of items that you can find in the Bibberbang Grotto, which includes the Noblestalk (Quest Item) that has multiple one-time uses.

  • Noblestalk – A mushroom that can restore memories or cure Duergar Poison
  • Scroll of Featherfall
  • 2 Scroll of Misty Step
  • 7 Lolth’s Candle
  • Chasm Creeper

Verdict

It is vital to make sure the place doesn’t blow up because even if you survive, the Noblestalk will be destroyed by the explosions.

To save Baelen and complete the Find the Mushroom Picker quest to get a reward, you may toss him a Scroll of Misty Step when speaking or use Mage Hand to move his backpack.

Being in the middle of the explosions if they happen to go off does not instantly kill you and some characters may even survive the ordeal. (As long as they get out of the fire)
