There are certain creatures that you can find in the Underdark and one of them is the Bulette, which appears as a subterranean shark-like mole.
This creature is covered in scales and if you notice its head, it appears to bear a resemblance to a shark that burrows into the ground.
Players will often encounter this creature as they explore the Underdark and end up being a victim if taken by surprise.
Where To Find Bulette?
While the Bulette is said to be encountered randomly as you explore the Underdark, it appears that it often appears near the Selunite Temple.
This is often encountered after a while if you are running around the Underdark and will often cause tremors when it is close to you.
Once you get into what is the territory of this creature, it will come after you and may knock down some of your party members when it emerges.
How To Defeat Bulette?
When the Bulette appears, you will only have 2 turns to kill it until it burrows again and runs away, and this makes it important to plan everything. (Quicksave recommended)
Once the tremors begin, the Bulette will be traveling underground and will shortly appear, knocking down your party if they are near it.
This starts time-based mode, and you will need to make sure you position your party carefully with the turns you have left before the fight begins.
There are surfaces that you can position some of your party members on to avoid them from being targeted while others can be positioned near the area where Bulette emerges from.
Make use of your stronger attacks if you can do as much damage as possible during the fight and if you have attacks that can disable it, those will come in handy.
Bulette Drops
Once the Bulette has been defeated, you can loot its body to get a certain item, which includes the following:
- Bloodguzzler Garb (Uncommon Clothing) – Wearer gains wrath when damaged by an enemy
- Shovel
- Bucket
- Bone
Verdict
The Bulette has a large amount of health and is sometimes considered a mini-boss that you encounter in the Underdark but with the right attacks, it can be dealt with quickly.
Even if the Bulette disappears after your first encounter, it will tend to appear again as you explore the Underdark, and this can sometimes take players off guard.
Getting your hands on the Bloodguzzler Garb may be useful for certain characters, especially those who are likely to be attacked.
