How to Find The Missing Boots in Baldur’s Gate 3

Venturing into the Underdark will allow you to encounter several creatures and one of these is the Duergar, who are currently on the hunt for a Dark Gnome named Thulla.

It appears that Thulla had stolen Sergeant Thrinn’s boots (Boots of Speed) and has run off to seek shelter somewhere in the Underdark.

A Duergar named Gekh Coal has tasked you with finding the Dark Gnome and retrieving the boots from her to take back to Sergeant Thrinn.

Where To Find Thulla?

Thulla location map

Thulla may be found at the Underdark Myconid Colony, where you encounter Sovereign Spaw as she is currently under their protection.

The two of them will be close together which will allow you to talk to one of them at a time, allowing you to interact with Thull and Sovereign Spaw.

Entering the Myconid Colony for the first time will require you to choose the right dialogue to avoid them becoming hostile towards you.

How To Get Missing Boots from Thulla?

Thulla lying down on the ground in pain

Upon reaching Thulla, it is revealed that she is lying down on the ground in pain due to being attacked by one of the Duergar.

You can choose to take the boots from her or help her out, which will result in her giving you the missing boots. (Boots of Speed)

This gives you a way to obtain the boots without making the Myconid Colony hostile towards you and you can even speak with Sovereign Spaw, who will ask you to eliminate the Duergar.

Where To Bring The Missing Boots?

Once you have the Missing Boots, head back to Gekh Coal, who will instruct you to take the Underdark Duergar Boat back to where Sergeant Thrinn can be found.

While making your way further on the boat, you will encounter another Duergar Boat and may talk your way through with them to continue.

You will arrive at Grymforge, where the ruins are being excavated and upon giving the boots to the sergeant, you will be rewarded.

Find The Missing Boots Reward

Returning the boots to the sergeant, you will be rewarded with one of two items that you can choose from, and these include the following:

  • Armour of Uninhibited Kushigo – Users can use their reaction to make an unarmed strike against any attacker that misses while Patient Defense is active.
  • Bracing Band – Wearer gains a +1 to their Armor Class until their next turn after shoving an enemy.

Verdict

Choosing who you side with depends on what you do when finding the missing boots as well as when you return them to the sergeant.

This involves you jumping into a battle between the Duergar and the Myconid Colony, but you can still avoid a lot of bloodshed early on.

In the end, handing over the boots to the sergeant will allow you to choose if you want to side with Nere, who is later discovered to be trapped.
