How To Get Loviatar’s Scourge in Baldur’s Gate 3

Loviatar’s Scourge is an Uncommon Mace in Baldur’s Gate 3 that has a twist of Necrotic damage to it, which has a conditional effect.

This is first seen being used by Abdirak, who initially offers to indulge you with pain, which leads you to gain the Loviatar’s Love condition.

While Abdirak helps you get such a useful buff, you can later obtain his mace to deal with splash Necrotic damage when hitting enemies at a certain cost.

Loviatar’s Scourge allows its user to create a blast of Necrotic damage when performing a Main Hand Attack, but this also hits its user.

This can be useful when you are fighting multiple enemies, allowing you to damage all nearby enemies when you strike a target with Loviatar’s Scourge.

Aside from being able to create a blast that damages enemies, this weapon also provides its wielder with resistance to Necrotic damage.

How To Get Loviatar’s Scourge?

The only way for you to get your hands on Loviatar’s Scourge is to take it from Abdirak, who you may encounter in the Shattered Sanctum.

This is usually when you are on your way to find Halsin and most players will stumble upon this devout follower of Loviatar and participate in a quick hazing ritual.

After players have obtained Loviatar’s Love from Abdirak, they can come back any time to kill him to loot Loviatar’s Scourge from his body.

Obtaining Loviatar’s Scourge Without Alerting Goblins

If you are playing safe and want to get Loviatar’s Scourge without causing a big scene, you can do so by killing Abdirak and hiding his body far from the entrance.

There will be a Goblin on patrol, which makes it best to plan when you kill and move Abdirak’s body before they find it.

You can move Abdirak’s body to the area where he continuously beats you to give you Loviatar’s Love once the coast is clear.

Verdict

Loviatar’s Scourge is not a bad weapon, especially when you tend to use it when close to multiple enemies, but you should also watch out for your allies.

Only Necrotic damage is splashed to nearby targets, which makes this weapon safe to use for its wielder even if it damages them too.

Builds that go well with Necrotic damage can make good use of this weapon as it can be a good early-game weapon for most characters.
