BG3: How To Get Out of Nettie’s Room (Get Key of The Ancients & Open Stone Slab)

After you wake up following the crash of the Nautiloid, you end up on a journey as you search for a way to get the Mind Flayer Tadpoles out of your heads.

This eventually leads you to certain people that you believe may be able to help you and one of them is a druid named Nettie.

Unfortunately, Nettie plans on putting you to an after finding out you are infected but may or may not change her mind and just in case things get messy, you will need a way out of her room.

Nettie’s Room bg3

Why Does Nettie Attack You?

Nettie will mention that she will try to help you and will lead you to the Enclave Library, where she will question you after you have followed her.

If she likes your answers during a cutscene she will offer you poison that you must say you will take if you show any symptoms of transforming into a Mind Flayer and will attack if you refuse.

Refusing her request will result in her attacking you and if you manage to defeat her, you will be locked into the Enclave Library. (You will need to open the Stone Slab)

How To Open Stone Slab?

The Stone Slab is the large stone doorway that blocks the path back to the Druids’ Chambers but there is also another Stone Slab in the room near the wolf statue.

To open both, you will need an item called the Key to the Ancients, which is the circlet that Nettie is wearing.

Equipping the Key to the Ancients will allow the wearer to interact with the Stone Slabs, which will open them as long as you use the party member that wears the item.

How To Get Key of The Ancients?

looting the Key to the Ancients

You will need to loot the Key to the Ancients from Nettie’s body and equip it, allowing you to interact with the Stone Slab to open it.

Another Key of the Ancients (circlet) may be found on the body of a knocked-out person named Findal within the Underground Passage.

Both Key of the Ancients circlets may be used to open the Stone Slabs found in the Enclave Library and may be worn by any member of your party. (Interact with the Stone Slabs using the wearer)

Verdict

Getting help from Nettie will result in her trying to kill you if you refuse the dialogue, promising to poison yourself if you end up turning into a Mind Flayer.

Regardless of what you answer, you won’t be forced to poison yourself but refusing will result in her becoming hostile and trying to kill you herself.

If Nettie does not try to kill you, she will instead send you on the search for the druid named Halsin, who she believes may know a way to cure you.
