Shadowbeak is a flying Dark Pal that can be encountered by players once they have traveled across the ocean to one of the Wildlife Sanctuaries.
This Dark Pal, which is believed to be genetically modified, is believed to no longer have any genetic ties to other Pals and rather has the appearance of a griffin with a ring around it.
Capable of unleashing a variety of Dark Active Skills, a high-level Shadowbeak is capable of annihilating its prey within seconds.
Shadowbeak Location
Shadowbeak spawns around the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary to the northeast part of Palpagos Island across the sea.
It is also possible to obtain Shadowbeak through breeding but this may require that you obtain certain Pals before this can happen.
How To Breed Shadowbeak?
Shadowbeak is bred by assigning a Kitsun and an Astegon to a Breeding Farm, which results in the two of these Pals producing an egg.
Once you have obtained the egg, it may be placed in an Egg Incubator and may be hatched into a Shadowbeak.
Shadowbeak Uses
Shadowbeak mostly learns Dark Active Skills but will be able to use Ignis Blast and Air Cannon as its earlier attacks when fighting enemies.
This Dark Pal can be ridden, which gives you another way to explore Palpagos Island instead of taking up the time to run around different regions.
An incredibly useful thing about Shadowbeak is that it can deal more damage with its Dark Attacks if you are riding it but this requires you to have its saddle first.
Partner Skill
Shadowbeak has the Modified DNA Partner Skill, which allows it to be ridden after you have crafted the Shadowbeak Saddle. (Unlockable at Level 47)
Once you have its saddle, you may ride Shadowbeak and use its equipped Active Skills to defeat enemies that you encounter.
The best thing about its Partner Skill is that any Dark Active Skills that you use will be enhanced as long as you are riding Shadowbeak.
Work Suitability
Shadowbeak is better off being a Pal in your party as well as a combat mount as it is only capable of gathering crops from Plantations.

Verdict
While Shadowbeak has almost no use at your base aside from gathering from Plantations, keeping one around will have it defending the area from raiders.
Shadowbeak learns powerful Dark Attacks such as Nightmare Ball and Dark Laser, which are often good for taking out multiple enemies or dealing large amounts of damage to a boss.
Shadowbeaks Exclusive Skill (Divine Disaster) causes it to dash forward and leave orbs that capture enemies and unleash lasers, which can be a great way to clear out groups of enemies.
