The Adventurer’s Chest is one of the containers found in The Hollow in the Druids’ Grove, which offers a few items that you can easily take.
This chest will be locked at first and maybe opened later to obtain the items within it, which can later be useful during the earlier parts of the game.
Obtaining this is simple, especially if you have not woken up Aradin after he is knocked out by Zevlor when you first enter the grove.
How To Open Adventurer’s Chest in The Hollow?
1) Steal Key from Aradin
One of the easiest ways to open the Adventurer’s Chest in The Hollow would be to steal Aradin’s Key and use it once you get to the chest.
Stealing the key can be done by pickpocketing Aradin since Zevlor knocks him out when you first arrive at the grove.
Aradin will have the following items in his inventory:
- Potion of Healing
- Stamped Handbill (Allows you to obtain Find The Nightsong quest)
- Aradin’s Key (Unlocks Adventurer’s Chest in The Hollow)
- 12 Gold
- Thieves’ Tools
- Trap Disarm Kit
- Torch
2) Lockpick Adventurer’s Chest
If you have Thieves’ Tools on one of your characters you can use these to unlock the Adventurer’s Chest by having whoever has them lockpick the chest.
This can be done by opening the Adventurer’s Chest menu and selecting “Lockpick” and an Ability Check will begin, allowing you to open the chest if successful.
Adventurer’s Chest Contents
Once you open the Adventurer’s Chest by using Aradin’s Key or by Lockpicking, you will find the following items inside:
- 4 Gold
- The Illustrated Adventures of Balduran (Book)
- Silver Necklace
- Potion of Healing
Adventurer’s Chest Location (The Hollow)
The Adventurer’s Chest can be found near the Stone Gate that leads to where Zevlor can be found after your first encounter.
You will often go to this area if you need to speak with Zevlor and just before you reach the gate, you can find the Adventurer’s Chest near a table under a covered tent-like structure.
Verdict
While these items may not be the most expensive, combined with the items from Aradin if you Pickpocket him, you can make a decent amount of early Gold.
When Pickpocketing Aradin, it is important to make sure no one is around to avoid getting into trouble as this can end up with you going to jail.
If you fail to Pickpocket Aradin before he leaves the grove, you will have to resort to Lockpicking to open the Adventurer’s Chest.
