The Homeward Thundercloud is a consumable that was introduced in the Sakurajima Update, which allows you to return to your base almost instantly.
This item needs to be crafted but first, you will need to hunt down a certain Electric Pal called Dazzi, which is abundant in the Dessicated Desert.
Utilizing this consumable will allow you to easily return to your base if you are far from a fast travel point or if you need to escape trouble.
Transports you to the nearest base.
Cannot be used in dungeons and other similar locations.
How To Get Homeward Thundercloud?
Crafting a Homeward Thundercloud will require that you have Dazzi Cloud as well as other materials, which makes it vital to hunt Dazzi on the island.
Dazzi spawn in the Dessicated Desert around the bottom half of the region where you will find these Pals often in groups of 3 roaming together.
Once you have a Dazzi Cloud, you will also need Electric Organs and Ancient Civilization Parts, which makes this consumable a mid to late-game item.
Uses of Homeward Thundercloud
The Homeward Thundercloud’s purpose is to give players a way to fast travel back to the nearest base without the need to use a fast travel point.
Using the Homeward Thundercloud will have your character hop onto the cloud and after a short delay, they will be transported to the nearest base.
This gives you a way to escape danger if you are low on health or out of Pals and is also a good way to get back to the base if you are far from any fast travel points. (Useful for Oil Rig Raids)
Verdict
While you don’t encounter Dazzi during the earlier parts of the game, you will eventually stumble upon this Pal and can make good use of the Dazzi Clouds that you get.
Having a Homeward Cloud with you is a good idea to have a fast way to get back to your base, especially if you can’t make it to the fast travel if it is far away from you.
A quick way to get a lot of Dazzi Clouds to prepare to craft many Homeward Clouds would be to explore the Dessicated Desert and do a few rounds to get 15 to 20 within a few minutes.
