Rayhound is an Electric Pal that resembles a canine, which is only found in the Dessicated Desert and this is probably a hint of why some of its attacks deal Ground Damage.
This Electric Pal can be a real threat if a group happens to target you and it will relentlessly unleash Electric and even Ground Attacks once you are spotted.
Capturing this Pal however can sometimes provide you with benefits, such as better mobility as well as electricity at your base.
Rayhound Location
When exploring the Dessicated Desert, you are sure to find a lot of Rayhound around the center as well as the southern parts of the desert.
Rayhound Uses
Owning a Rayhound can mean better transportation on land but you will want to make a Rayhound Saddle before this can happen.
Assigning Rayhound to your base will have it focus solely on producing electricity for structures that need it as long as a Power Generator is available.
Riding this Electric Pal doesn’t only provide you with faster movement, but you will also be able to utilize its Partner Skill, which allows you to jump in midair.
Partner Skill
Crafting a Rayhound Saddle and having it in your inventory will allow you to ride this Electric Pal safely, giving you increased movement speed.
While riding Rayhound, you will be able to use your weapons to attack enemies or may manually cast the Pal’s Active Skills.
Rayhound is capable of performing a double jump, which allows you to do an extra jump in the air to reach higher areas.
Work Suitability
Rayhound’s is only able to provide your base with electricity when assigned to a base but this requires that you have a Power Generator.

Verdict
Rayhounds are quite rare since they are only found in the desert but there are many of them once you reach the area.
Capturing this Electric Pal may require that you have better spheres due to their higher levels and taking them on in a fight can sometimes be dangerous.
If you manage to get a Rayhound, you can breed it with a Dinossom to make Dinossom Lux or with a Mossanda to get a Grizzbolt.
